Mamas Who Move Selwyn is more than just a fitness studio. It’s a supportive community designed specifically for mums. We understand that motherhood is a journey full of challenges, and finding time for yourself can feel impossible. That’s why we’ve created a space where you can prioritise your health, regain strength, and connect with like-minded mums in a welcoming and encouraging environment.
Our approach goes beyond exercise. We focus on movement that empowers, strengthens, and fits into your busy life. Whether you're navigating postpartum recovery, rebuilding fitness 10 years after your baby, or simply looking for a place to move, laugh, and feel good. No matter where you are in your journey, we’re here to support you every step of the way.
Our classes take the format of 'Semi-Private Personal Training'. This means all classes have a maximum of 4 people per session, and are programmed over 6 week blocks to ensure you see progress and reach your goals. You get the benefit of your very own Personal Trainer - without the hefty price tag. Although our sessions are not specifically designed for 'Mums and Bubs' we are more than happy to have your little ones present and will provide a small play area for them.

The Facility
We’re here to help you take the next step in your fitness journey. Our spacious, fully equipped studio in Prebbleton is designed for functional, strength, and high-energy training. We offer a wide range of equipment, including barbells, dumbbells, cardio machines, suspension training, and bodyweight exercises. With a variety of cross-training equipment, plyometric tools, and access to outdoor space, our workouts are dynamic, fun, and designed to challenge you at any fitness level.
Our mission is to provide a safe, welcoming, and non-intimidating space where mums can build strength, confidence, and community. Whether you're navigating postpartum recovery, getting back into fitness, or striving for new goals, our sessions and personal training services are designed to support you every step of the way.
Although our programs are tailored for mums, everyone is welcome at Mamas Who Move Selwyn. We believe in creating an inclusive and encouraging environment where all women feel empowered to move, train, and thrive.

Small Group Training
Mamas Who Move Selwyn sessions are run from a private Prebbleton studio 6 days a week. Each class is 60 minutes and has a maximum of 4 people. Classes include H.I.I.T, Hybrid, Glute Lab, Strong, Tone and Align. We cater to all ages, & all fitness levels. For sessions descriptions and prices, head to our small group training page.

Julia-Rose
Personal Trainer | Business Owner
Hi, I’m Julia-Rose, a mum to my beautiful 1-year-old daughter, Raven, and wife to my supportive husband, David. As a mother, I understand firsthand the challenges of finding time for yourself, balancing responsibilities, and prioritising your health. But I also know how vital movement is. Not just for fitness, but for overall wellbeing, mental health, and setting a strong example for our children.
My passion for health and fitness has been a lifelong journey. I previously owned Plant Physique and HIIT Fit in Christchurch, helping people achieve their fitness goals through strength training and high-intensity workouts. I’m excited to return—this time, with a mission that’s closer to my heart.
I created Mamas Who Move Selwyn to provide a welcoming space where mums can regain strength, confidence, and energy. My goal is to help other mums move in ways that feel good, support postpartum recovery, and fit into their busy lives. I believe in fitness that empowers—not just physically, but mentally and emotionally—because when we feel strong, we show up better for ourselves and our families.
